Our name holds an image of home: a strong tree, a remarkable migration, and generations gathering beneath the same branches.

Culture lives when it is shared
Oyamel Folkloric Dancers was formerly known as the Hispanic Folkloric Dancers of Idaho. Today, the group continues to welcome dancers ages 3 and up and to perform throughout the Treasure Valley.
Folklórico brings together movement, music, clothing, history, and community memory. Learning a dance means learning to listen—to a teacher, to fellow dancers, to the rhythm, and to the people whose traditions shaped it.
That is why Oyamel is more than a performance group. It is a place for families to build confidence, care for culture, and create memories together.
